Religious and national festivals are the keys to a society of rich culture. BIS makes it a point to celebrate events such as the independence day, New year festival, Wesak celebrations, Mother's day, Father's day , Children's day, Teacher's day, and Christmas celebrations.

A sil programme in view of Wesak Poya was held at the Dathumalu Viharaya on the 11th May 2012. A number of sermons by several priests and Dhamma discussions were held as part of the sil programme. Shown below are the students and staff taking part in the programme.
