The Montessori section of BIS takes centre stage. The Montessori consists of three sections, namely Play Group, Lower Nursery and Upper Nursery. Starting from free play, the infants are methodically and gradually taught their ABC.

The teachers of the Montessori section who are all AMI or Pre school qualified teachers take every measure to give individual attention to these toddlers in order to develop their mathematical, sensory motor, Aesthetic, language and social skills.

Activities such as "cooking day" and "role play" are organized for the Montessori students to expand their vocabulary and to integrate with the other skills.

BIS provides a positive environment in the class room that encourages children to be independent. They learn through play, and the Montessori section at BIS caters for child centered education. The toddlers in the Montessori section develop not only physically and intellectually but also socially and emotionally.

The Montessori School of BIS shifted to it's new spacious premises at 88/1, Sunethradevi Mawatha, Kohuwela, Nugegoda, on the 2nd September 2009. The new premises consists of well equipped, attractive and spacious class rooms and a spacious, well equipped play area that caters to the needs of montessori students.
