Staff

The staff at BIS consists of highly qualified graduates and well trained and experienced professionals with a passion to teach. The staff members are committed to achieve high academic standards and uphold the discipline and reputation of the school.

Guitar classes

We started inaugural guitar lessons in the secondary school every Wednesday after school to promote musical skills of the students in a relaxed setting, under the guidance of musician Christopher Hendricus.

New Location

In our 25th year we relocated the secondary school section of BIS to a new venue at No. 11, Pepiliyana Mawatha, Kohuwala. Students are seen here in attendance at assembly. The students, management and staff also conducted an opening ceremony at the premises. The new location has open spacious green gardens and free-form classrooms to encourage students to think, create, and learn in tune with nature.

BIS celebrated Children's Day and Elder's Day

The students of BIS celebrated Children's Day and Elder's Day with much excitement. The theme of the event was Goldilocks and the Three Bears as enacted by the students of the Primary School, which included an entertaining hot-seat questionnaire (video inset). The Montessori students also participated in the theme as they wore golden hair locks and played fancy dress to mark the significance of Children's Day, with witty dialogue and creative expression to improve language development through play.
